03:00 / Posted by TL /

Do you like salty foods? Sometimes, your sense of taste may decline and that you may wish to add a table spoon of salt in the food you are cooking. This may apply to people who start aging. People with taste loss can also lead to the temptation to add salt to their food. It is a part of flavouring. However, do we know that salt is hidden, and usually found in most of the foods that we consume - excessive amount of salt may kill millions of people worldwide.

Salt can lead to the increase of blood pressure and water retention. This is also a reason of why some people like myself who love using herbs to flavour foods instead of salt. At the very least, these herbs are beneficial for my health rather than salt. Anyway, if you really want a little salt added into your food, please do use sea salt instead of table salt. There are many types of sea salt. I would recommend you to consume Celtic sea salt since this type of salt contain lowest sodium when compared to all different types of salts available, and has the richest beneficial elements when compared to any other salts. Reducing salt consumption is highly important for living being. At the very least, resist the intake of salt consumption may be the most common, cheapest and easiest method to save our lives. Lastly, though not conclusively, try increase your intake of any green vegetables and fruits since they are nearly salt-free. I am not sure if this is real, but some people suggests adding salt into vegetables or fruits, and consume it in order to break down carbohydrates, an effective way of dieting.

Here are some facts of salt intake. Substantially reducing salt intake will reduce blood pressure. That is a fact. Reducing salt consumption wil also lower the risk of heart attack and suffering from strokes. This is another fact. There is an evident published in year 2007 calculated risk of salt consumption. The research paper suggested that reducing salt consumption by all human worldwide should prevent approximately 9 million deaths in the next 5 years. Other analyses have proven that reducing the consumption of salt daily (as little as 5 grams per intake) could reduce approximately 40 per cent of cardiovascular disease (a disease related to heart). Since salt is unable to be combined with any fluids contained in the human body, it tend to create health disturbances.
